Which actor/ess would play you in a film biography?

Here's an excersise to find your best fit of actor/ess for your biography in film!
We all have our favourite actors and actresses that symbolise something which we would like to emulate whether it be a characteristic trait, look or even someone who you think looks like you or who chooses similar roles in film as you would if you were an actor yourself.
A characteristic or trait could be the concern for method acting to really get in-character you may admire or a trait they possess to only be a part of a certain type of film for ethical reasons of bringing awareness to a topic or for acting virtue. This could be someone like Robert De Niro, Daniel Day Lewis, Edward Norton or Jodie Foster.
A look you like they present themselves you identify as fashionable or cool like Kate Beckinsale, Ashton Kutcher, Scarlett Johansson, Matt Damon, George Clooney or Catherine Zeta-Jones.
Or it could be someone you identify with both in looks or roles they have chosen, like if you're the gentle but funny guy maybe someone like Robin Williams, Ben Stiller or Jim Carrey or if you're the down-to-earth girl, free of bullshit, perhaps someone like Julia Roberts or Kate Winslet.
Now, to make it interesting, pick three or more actor/ess' that fit in your defined reasons of why you like them that appeals to you to play you in the biography of your life, if Hollywood thought you were great enough to make a movie from. (it's lottery chances but hey, harmless)
I'll go first.
In terms of a characteristic or trait I'd pick Mel Gibson. Not for his constant battle with the bottle or his anti-semitic views but for his willingness to do things that while unconventional and may seem a little crazy are commendable on his drive to achieve that I find inspirational.
For someone I think looks cool I'd go for Colin Farrell or Johnny Depp. Two cool cats.
And lastly for someone that I think I'd be like would be John Cusack. Mostly under-the-radar but actually is quite good, and has that minorly frustrated yet obliging personality that's quite funny to watch.
Now, realistically judge who a casting agent would offer the role to out of the choices you made of would play you on the big screen.
All in all, I probably think the casting agent would only allow John Cusack to play me.

I'm new to the Orble community here and I'm just searching around the blogs for the entertainment ones. I just got a domain blog so I'm just seeing what everyone else is writing about. Mine's on TV.
I love the site here though, I'll be back a lot.

Congratulations on getting a domain blog I'll be sure to check out your site. Thanks for the praise. I should post more and endeavour to, but other constraints take up my time which prevent me from contributing more.
I look forward to your tv reviews. I think now is a good time to write about tv as the shows seems to have recently gotten better for some reason. Maybe you know why?
Seeya round.

Actually I do know why the shows out there are getting better and better (it also might be a good idea about a post), but it's just simple economics. 24 really is the show that changed modern television. After 24, then Lost. And then the serial drama landslide continued. This year we seen tons of serial dramas, with big actors (even some big screen actors) vying for their place among the big guys.
Everyone is forced to make better shows, because the need to beat their competitors. Although, American Idol is one of the worst shows ever, but the most popular in America by far, so that's somewhat of a paradox.

Lost is/was great. I watched the first season over and over again. It's so rich and intruiging. The pacing was a bit off in the second season, started well, but left the viewer feeling increasingly unsatisfied incrementally until the last eps.
I think you're spot-on with the competitiveness call. That and (luckily) creative minds have moulded to produce some great t.v.
P.S. Watching the Soprano's?

On the top of my list would be Naomi Watts (for her raw intensity), Edward Norton (to use in mind-bending transitions), Kate Winslet (I love her curves and oval shaped face, also her grace and poise) and Viggo Mortensen (for his eccentric artistry) Oh, and I'd like David Fincher, Sam Mendes and David Lynch to take turns shooting! lol
Scarlett Johanssen can play me in a minor scene (for her depth and eloquence), perhaps.

Nice choice. I hope for the producers you lived in much the same locale all of your life to budget for all the actors and actresses fees plus the costs of making the film as well!
Naomi Watts is all class and a great Aussie actress, Ed Norton is one of my fav actors, Kate is greatly understated and Viggo well, ok, your personal choice.
Heh, the directing choices would combine for a very bizarre (Fincher and Lynch) yet strangely human (Mendes) film. I like it a lot.
Scarlett and Naomi would work colloboratively well together to piece together one persons life, in that they're similar yet have very defining characteristics.
Great response although copping out on not picking a sole person somewhat!

Wasn't that a B&W film starring Billy Bob Thornton?
Viggo is fabulous... not only is he a fantastic actor, he's also a publisher, author, poet, artist, photographer and singer... and speaks English, Spanish and Danish fluently. I highly recommend his website, www.percevalpress.com, for left-of-the-centre news items.
As for copping out, I'm a postmodernist - I don't play by the rules! ;o)

Thanks for alerting me to all of his (many) traits. I will check out the site.
There's not many people at all who could use that comment and get away with it, but I think you're within that miniscule minority.

And the cinematography... oh, the cinematography!
> haven't been getting much sleep lately
No problem, I've been going to bed at 5am so I know how that goes...
Most ppl have only seen Viggo in Lord of the Rings, which is a very atypical role for him - he tends to play wildly dysfunctional ppl on the fringes of society.

Hahaha! Awww.
