Russell Crowe (not) to play Steve Irwin
September 29th 2006 09:40
In the first Cinematrix bungle, reports indicating Russell Crowe's ambition to play Steve Iriwn in a biopic have been quashed. In seizing the opportunity so quickly after the 'Wildlife Warrior's' sudden departure, Cinematrix was concerned that the ode - while promotion-worthy and kind-hearted - was un-sentimentally too soon. Crowe told a US interview show "Extra" that, "It's appalling to me... ...(It) offends me very deeply, so awful that I have to deal with millions of people thinking I would dance on my friend's grave". I for one am relieved of this notice both in terms of not sensationalising Steve Irwins tragic passing and that Russell Crowe can and will deter from making any kind of biopic of Irwin, at least from the near future.
Lastly, I'd like to apologise to readers for the misinformation and endeavour to look to more credible sources for the latest news and goss on the film industry.
Bye for now!
